By 2010, derdiedada had become decadent and artistically obese, and a morose feeling had beset the once-spritely creators. Having climbed to the pinnacle of the international art world, the group decided that it was time to evolve before the penguins hit rock bottom. The ennui of success, they realized, could only be broken by taking a break. This mood is well-encapsulated in the work „I love Linda Barros“, whose stern warning about the trappings of adult life continues to resonate today like the diaries of a broken tripod or a sentient blob. During their hiatus, derdiedada lost a lot of time but eventually managed to embark on a path toward artistic reconstruction. The few fragments of creative merit that survive from this period are, however, akin to the solo album efforts of a defunct boy band, which is to say, history and this retrospective have no reason to remember them.
